The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) published the Civil Services Examination 2026 notification on 4 February 2026. This also includes the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2026 under the same notice. The notification was long awaited

- Number of Vacancies: 933 (tentative; it may increase or decrease). Out of these, 33 posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university (final-year students can apply provisionally).
