Uttarakhand BTech Admission 2026
The admission process for admission to Btech courses in Uttarakhand colleges both government and private will start soon for academic year 2026-27. Will there be any entrance test? No Uttarakhand technical university(Veer Madho Singh Technical University) does not conduct any entrance test for admission to BTech courses in the state
What options are available for admission?
The candidates have appeared in the JEE Main 2026 and Veer Madho Singh Bhandari will use the JEE Main 2026 score for admission to technical courses.
That is not enough if you have not appeared for the JEE Main 2026 the University also offers admission on Merit too i.e., last qualifying marks of class 10+2
Uttarakhand BTech Eligibility
- Students must fulfil the eligibility criteria for admission to BTEch courses in the state
- You have passed the 10+2 exam or appearing in the final year exam
- You have secured at least 45 percent marks
- Reserved category students must have secured 40 percent marks

What else is required
Uttarakhand Domicile Requirement
Candidates with Uttarakhand domicile can apply under the state quota even if they passed or are appearing in their qualifying exam from other states, but they must present a valid Domicile Certificate from a competent authority during counseling.
Those who passed their qualifying exam from Uttarakhand Technical Board or Universities qualify for lateral entry seats, though they won’t receive reservation benefits.
If such candidates are unavailable, vacant lateral entry seats go to eligible non-Uttarakhand candidates holding a 3- or 2-year Diploma (per AICTE norms) from institutions approved by other state/central governments’ Technical Education Boards, deemed equivalent by the Uttarakhand Board, in engineering/technology branches excluding Agriculture Engineering.
Admission Criteria
The University will seek JEE Main 2026 score for B.Tech admissions or Class 12 merit for the first two rounds. Other programs rely on qualifying exam marks.
