WCR Apprentice recruitment start on 30 August
Wester Central Railway (WCR) released the Notification for the recruitment of apprentices in various divisions. The total number of posts is 2865. Candidates will be engaged as trainees.
There will be no entrance test and Railway will select candidates on the basis of merit in the last qualifying marks.

You must understand that this is not the permanent job only training period for limited time, and candidates will stipend get during this period. The railway mentions that there is no obligation on Railway to offer a permanent job to these apprentice

Candidates should note and take cognizance of the fact that this is a Centralized Notification for engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for West Central Railway Divisions/Units. According to merit, division/unit will engage the apprentices

Age (Age limit as on 20 /08/2025)
You should have completed 15 and not exceeded 24 years as on 20 August
- There is age relaxation mentioned below for these candidates.
- Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates, 03 years in case of OBC candidates.
- For Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBDs), upper age relaxation by 10 years (15 year for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC). Upper age limit is relaxable
Education Qualification
The minimum qualification required is class 10 pass out or its equivalent under the 10+2. Candidates have secured 50 per cent marks, no rounding of marks. All trades and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT
Mode of Selection
Railway will do selection on the basis of the merit list prepared in respect to all the eligible candidates who apply against the notification. The meri list shall include average marks obtained in 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) plus ITI/Trade marks for all the eligible candidates.
On the basis of trade/division/unit opted by the candidate, Railway will prepare merit list i.e. Trade trade-wise,, division/unit & community-wise wise
