The application has opened for September Batch for this course. Candidates who are interested can also apply for Diploma program. Candidates can apply for this application till September 15, 2024. The Exam will be held on October 27, 2024. The candidates will be first enrolled for foundational level course. Candidates who are in 12 or have passed class 12 exam can apply in IIT Madras BS Degree course in Data Science.

Anyone who has passed Class 12 or equivalent can apply irrespective of age or academic background. Those who qualify can join the program immediately. View list of accepted class 12 equivalents.
School students who have appeared for their Class 11 final exams can apply irrespective of their group/stream/board. Those who qualify can join the program after passing Class 12.
It is expected that the applicants have studied Mathematics and English in Class 10.
No additional eligibility other than the ones mentioned above is required to apply for the qualifier process or join the foundational level courses after clearing the qualifying exam.
IIT Madras BS Degree Admission Process
Regular entry: All candidates, irrespective of their backgrounds, can earn admission to the Foundation Level by successfully completing the qualifier process. All regular entry students must go through the Qualifier process to earn admission to the Foundation Level.
At the end of the four weeks a qualified exam will be conducted for eligible candidates which is based on the content covered in the four weeks of study
JEE-based entry: Candidates eligible to appear for the most recent JEE Advanced are directly admitted to the Foundation Level

In each course the average of the best 2 out of the first 3 assignment scores will be calculated. It is important to note that candidates who get the minimum required average assignment scores in all four subjects as given below will be allowed to appear for the Qualifier exam.

Qualifier Exam Passing Criteria Regular Entry
Only learner who are eligible to appear for the qualifier exam will receive the hall ticket.
In person qualifier exam at the end of 4 weeks of coursework is of four hours duration and covers all 4 courses

IIT Madras BS Degree Re-Attempt Qualifier Exam Regular Entry
Learner who were eligible to appear for the qualifier exam but could not clear the qualifier exam or stayed absent, these students can re attempt the qualifier exam in the same term without having to repeat the assignment.
Anyone who is eligible may apply for this qualifier exam by filling in the re-attempt application form that opens immediately after the qualifier results are announced and pay the re attempt fee

The candidates who are not eligible to re-attempt or do not clear the re-attempt exam may try again by applying again for the next term. These learners will be required to pay the full application fee of Rs.3000 for general category application and go through the entire qualifier process including the weekly assignment and qualifier exam.
