There is no entrance test; candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the last qualifying exam

Power Plant Engineering	B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, C&I, Power Engineering, and related branches. Candidates must also have minimum 60% marks in both Class 10 and Class 12 for all categories.
Hydro Power Plant Engineering	B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, and Power Engineering. Minimum marks in Class 10 and Class 12: 50% for General category and 45% for EWS/OBC/SC/ST candidates.
Power Distribution & Emerging Technologies	B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in any branch. Candidates must also have minimum 60% marks in both Class 10 and Class 12 for all categories.
Renewable Energy & Grid Interface Technologies	B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, C&I, Mechanical, Power Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, IT, and related branches. Candidates must also have minimum 60% marks in both Class 10 and Class 12 for all categories.

Admission to the PGDC programs is based on a common merit list prepared by NPTI, Faridabad.

The final merit list is prepared using the following weightage:

Interview Process for NPTI Power Diploma course

• Interviews will be conducted by NPTI.

Admission Process NPTI Power Diploma

1. Submission of application by eligible candidates.
2. Preparation of merit list based on degree marks + interview performance.
3. Shortlisted candidates are invited for counselling.
4. Admission is granted to PGDC courses through the counselling process.

CGPA / Grade Point Conversion Rules

• Candidates having CGPA/Grade Point systems must use the official conversion formula of their university/institute to convert CGPA into equivalent percentage.
• The consolidated CGPA/Grade Point in the qualifying degree will be considered according to the norms of the degree-awarding institution.
• Candidates must enter the equivalent percentage in the application form.

Document Verification Requirement

At the time of document verification at the allotted institute, candidates must provide:

• Degree/mark sheets
• Proof of CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula issued/accepted by their university/institute.

In short:
Final Merit = 80% Qualifying Degree Marks + 20% Interview Score → Counselling → Admission.
