Now CBI has taken the charge and will investigate the NEET UG paper leak matter
Even NEET PG is not untouchable by this controversy the NBE which conducts this exam, has been postponed.
When the next date will be confirmed will be confirmed by NBE.
Why this sudden development of leading, cancelling and postponement of exam is happening. Are the authorities were capable enough that no such incident emerged earlier. Though the voices raised when UGC decided to hand over the UGC NET exam to NTA.
Will NTA be privatized or be handed over to private organization?
Why this question?
NTA conducts a very large number of exams in the country and is the second largest after China which conducts entrance test not only for Admission at UG, PG and PhD level but for recruitment exam. It also holds exam for teacher appointment at KVS and NVS.
The application fee it charges if one multiply with number of students register and appear is huge. Alone NEET UG entrance test there were 24,00,000 candidates who registered for the exam and its application fee is Rs.1700.
Take another exam which is JEE Main the application fee for General category students is Rs.1000 around 140 lakh students appeared for in both the session.
In UGC NET some 9 lakh students took the exam and its application fee was Rs.1100.
Government levies GST on the application process and bank does not leave the candidates when they through its platform.
The amount looks huge in all this we are not denying preparing the question papers ,evaluation, conducting the exam and printing of the exam papers does not include anything. It carries the cost. But One examiner on average of 20-25 students you can calculate the cost.
Recently the government decided to waive of the gst on the hostel accommodation the government can also think of reducing and or waive off the gst it collects from the Application Fee
