IIT Kanpur Featured in Guiness World Record

IIT Kanpur has been co-featured in the Guinness World Records for the Largest Electric Bicycle Delivery as part of the E-Cycle program in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh.​

Key Achievement Details

The record involved delivering thousands of electric bicycles in a single event to promote sustainable local mobility and reduce carbon emissions.

Organized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh via Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA),

It collaborated with EMotorad, District Collectorate of Chittoor, and IIT Kanpur’s technical expertise through the Kuppam Net Zero Constituency Project.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented the official Guinness certificate. IIT Kanpur alumni Hari Shankar and Vikas Marmat (IAS), along with Principal Investigators Prof. Manoj K. Tiwari and Prof. Rajeev Jindal, played pivotal roles.

IIT Kanpur Director Prof. Manindra Agrawal highlighted the institute’s commitment to sustainability and societal impact via technical-policy integration. Prof. Tiwari and Prof. Jindal noted it as a milestone in public-sector sustainability collaborations.​
