AIIMS INI-CET PG July 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Indian Nationals

For Indian Nationals, candidates must be Indian citizens and must have an MBBS degree for MD, MS, DM (6 years), M.Ch. (6 years) and MD (Hospital Administration), or a BDS degree for MDS from a recognized institution. Candidates must also complete the 12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training on or before July 31, 2026; those completing their internship after this date are not eligible for the examination.

Important: Sponsored and Foreign National candidates are not eligible for General category seats, and candidates cannot claim eligibility under both Indian National and Foreign National categories.

Minimum Marks Required for AIIMS INI-CET PG July 2027

For Indian Nationals who obtained their MBBS/BDS degree in India, the minimum aggregate marks required in all professional MBBS/BDS examinations are:

Important: Candidates must enter the aggregate marks of all professional MBBS/BDS examinations, not the marks of only the first or third professional examination. Sponsored Candidates

Sponsored Indian National candidates must meet the same minimum marks criteria applicable to their respective category. A valid Sponsorship Certificate must be uploaded by the last date of application, and the original certificate must be produced at admission; otherwise, the candidature will be cancelled.

The sponsored candidate must also be an employee of the sponsoring/deputing authority and generally should have completed the required three years of service by the prescribed date, subject to the institute-specific requirements mentioned in Part B.

Indian Nationals Graduated from Foreign Universities

For Indian Nationals who completed their medical degree from a foreign university, the marks obtained in the FMGE conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) will be considered in place of aggregate MBBS marks. The applicable minimum qualifying percentage will remain 50% for SC/ST and 55% for other categories, as applicable.

Foreign Nationals must hold an MBBS degree for MD/MS/DM (6 years)/M.Ch. (6 years)/MD (Hospital Administration) or a BDS degree for MDS, along with the required 12-month internship. They must have at least 55% aggregate marks and submit a valid NOC from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

OCI/PIO Candidates

OCI/PIO eligibility will be governed by the Supreme Court judgment dated February 3, 2023. Eligible OCI/PIO candidates will be treated either as Indian Nationals (only for open-category seats) or as Foreign Nationals, depending on their status under the judgment; OCI candidates must upload their valid OCI card, while an NOC is not required.

Seats Available for AIIMS INI-CET PG July 2027

The postgraduate seats are divided into two categories: Indian National seats (excluding Sponsored/Foreign National seats) and Sponsored/Foreign National seats. AIIMS New Delhi will publish the INI-wise and speciality-wise seat matrix on the INI-CET portal based on information received from the respective INIs, and the seat list may be updated before result declaration.

Open and Sponsored/Foreign National seats are not interchangeable or convertible, unless specifically permitted under the rules of the respective INI mentioned in Part B of the prospectus.

Registration Requirement

Candidates are required to have the appropriate provisional or permanent registration with the NMC/DCI or a State Medical/Dental Council, as applicable, for online registration.

Scrutiny of Application
