It is one of the most important management entrance exams in India for students aiming for MBA and PGDM admissions in Symbiosis institutes. It is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University), and the score is used for shortlisting candidates for institutes such as SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIIB, and other Symbiosis campuses. Since the exam is short, competitive, and speed-based, students need a focused strategy from the beginning.

Why you must try SNAP 2026?
Here are a few reasons that you can look at:
1. Entry to 17 Top Symbiosis Institutes
One exam gives you access to all SIU colleges:
- SIBM Pune – flagship, avg package ∼28-30 LPA
- SCMHRD Pune – best for HR, Business Analytics, Infrastructure
- SIIB Pune, SIBM Bengaluru, SIBM Hyderabad, SIOM Nashik, SCIT, SSMC etc.
All have strong corporate connect and 100% placements.
2. Less Competition, More Chances
- CAT gets ∼3.3 lakh candidates, SNAP gets ∼1.2-1.3 lakh. Your odds are much better.
- You get 3 attempts. Best score out of 3 is considered. No other national MBA exam gives you this. CAT, XAT, NMAT (3 attempts but different pattern) – SNAP is the most forgiving.
3. Exam Pattern is Student-Friendly
- Only 60 questions in 60 minutes – 60 min test, no sectional time limit
- No sectional cut-off in most SIU colleges (except a few)
- No Descriptive, no GK like XAT. Just 3 sections: General English, Quant + DI, Analytical & Logical Reasoning.
- Difficulty level is moderate compared to CAT/XAT.
4. Faster Career Track
- SNAP colleges have 2-year full-time MBA with specializations that are industry-aligned – International Business, Agri-Business, Telecom, Data Science, Hospital & Healthcare, Sports Sciences, Banking & Finance.
- If you are from IT, Ops, Media background – SCIT, SIOM, SIMC give you a direct domain advantage.
5. Good ROI
- Fees are high (16-24 lakhs for 2 years) but average placements for top 4-5 campuses is 11-20 LPA, which is better than most Tier-2 private MBA colleges you get through other exams.
- Pune as a location = huge advantage for internships and jobs.
6. If You Are Doing CAT/XAT Prep, SNAP Prep is Free
Syllabus is 70% same as CAT. If you are preparing for CAT 2026, you are already preparing for SNAP. Just need 2-3 weeks of speed practice for SNAP mocks.
Who should NOT try?
If you are aiming only for IIMs BLACKI or want sub-10 lakh fees, then skip. But as a backup to CAT and as a primary target for a quality private MBA, SNAP is one of the best options in India.

Eligibility Criteria
To appear for SNAP, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with minimum aggregate marks as prescribed by Symbiosis. Final-year students are also generally eligible to apply, provided they meet the required conditions at the time of admission. Because the score is used for MBA admissions across multiple Symbiosis institutes, candidates should also check the specific eligibility rules of the program they want to join. Meeting SNAP eligibility does not automatically guarantee admission, since shortlisting depends on test score and later selection rounds.

SNAP 2025 Shortlisting and Selection Process (After the Entrance Test)
After the SNAP 2025 exam, candidates are shortlisted for the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interaction (PI) based on their overall SNAP percentile. Each Symbiosis institute releases its own shortlist and schedule for the next admission stage on its official website.
The GE-PI process is conducted separately by each institute and for each MBA programme. As a result, the cut-off percentile varies from one programme to another. A candidate who meets the required SNAP percentile may be shortlisted for multiple programmes across different Symbiosis institutes.
If a candidate is shortlisted for more than one programme, they must attend the GE-PI process separately for each programme. Final admission is granted after evaluating the candidate’s performance in the GE-PI round along with the institute’s admission criteria.
