JPSC has given clearity on the eligibility of the candidates as follow with PHD Degree

Equivalence of PhD is only for engineering/technological subjects.

Equivalence for PhD is based on publication in five journals, each of which conforms to the Cumulative Impact Index 2.0, in which the post holder is the lead author, and all five publications are in the author’s field of expertise.

Option: The individual must have obtained at least two patents or elected as a Fellow of one of the National Academies.

Eligibility for PhD directly after BE/BTech

Eligibility for PhD obtained directly after BE/BTech for various courses of study will be applicable in technical institutions, with the condiction that the degree in the relevant discipline is awarded by an institution of national importance, such as IIT/IISc/NIT, duly has approval by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, following the registration, coursework, and external evaluation procedures as by the University Grants Commission. Further, the candidate must have secured at least a first class in the undergraduate course in engineering/technology.

If no specialization is available within the scope of the Act, the State Government will decide on equivalence based on the course.

Admissibility of PhD Degree

A PhD degree will be admissible for appointment provided that the PhD degree obtained in the relevant discipline awarded through the education system, following the registration, course work, and external evaluation process prescribed by the University Grants Commission.

The candidate must have this degree as the PhD degree awarded only through the regular education system.

An open viva voce examination for the PhD must have taken place.

The candidate must have published two research papers from their PhD work, at least one of which must have published in a refereed journal.

The candidate must have participated in conferences sponsored/funded/assisted by the University Grants Commission/ICSSR/CSIR or any such agency. Presented at least two papers based on his/her PhD work in symposia/seminars. Fulfillment of these conditions should be certified by the Registrar or Dean (Education Work) of the concerned universities.
