The Exam Notification has been released for the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). It recruits for top state services posts such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Block Development Officer (BDO), Revenue Officer, and others in the Bihar Government.

BPSC 72 Eligibility

• Educational Qualification: Graduation or equivalent from a recognised university.
• Age Limit (as on 1 August 2026, tentative):
  • General (Male): 21–37 years
  • General (Female)/BC/EBC: 21–40 years
  • SC/ST (All): 21–42 years
• Age relaxations as per Bihar Govt rules.

BPSC 72 Exam Pattern (Official BPSC CCE)

1. Prelims (Screening, qualifying nature)

• 1 Paper: General Studies (History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Science, Current Affairs + Bihar-specific)
• 150 marks, Objective (MCQs), 2 hours
• No negative marking

2. Mains Exam BPSC 72 (900 marks merit)

• General Hindi – 100 marks (Qualifying only, min 30 required)
• General Studies Paper I – 300 marks
• General Studies Paper II – 300 marks
• Optional Subject (34 choices) – 300 marks
• All papers: 3 hours each, Descriptive

3. Interview BPSC 72 – 120 marks (Personality Test) Final Merit: 900 (Mains) + 120 (Interview) = 1020 marks.
