Who can apply for UCEED/CEED 2027 Registration?
IIT Bombay does not require any special qualification to apply for UCEED 2027; you have passed 10+2 in any stream and for CEED 2027 candidates must have completed graduation.
Is there any special qualification for CEED 2027?
For CEED 2027, candidates should meet the following educational qualification:
- Candidates must have completed a graduate degree, diploma or postgraduate degree programme of at least 3 years duration after Class 12.
- Candidates who are appearing for the final examination of such a programme can also apply, provided they complete the qualifying programme by July 2027.
- Candidates who have passed the GD Arts diploma programme at 10+5 level by July 2027 are also eligible.
- There is no age limit for appearing in CEED.
- There is no restriction on the number of attempts.
Important: The qualification to appear for CEED and the qualification required for admission to an individual M.Des/PhD programme are not necessarily the same. Participating institutes can prescribe additional eligibility requirements, so candidates should check the institute-specific admission criteria.
Examples of UCEED/CEED 2027 Registration
Students from backgrounds such as B.Tech/BE, B.Arch, B.Des, B.Sc, BFA, B.Com, BA and other qualifying degree programmes can generally appear, provided their programme meets the minimum duration requirement.

UCEED vs CEED 2027
The two examinations are conducted by IIT Bombay, but they serve different levels of design education:
- UCEED 2027: Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design — primarily for B.Des admissions.
- CEED 2027: Common Entrance Examination for Design — for M.Des and PhD programmes.
