Assam CEE 2027 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to B.Tech/B.E. programmes through Assam CEE, candidates must fulfil the following conditions:
- Indian Citizenship: The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Permanent Residency: The candidate must be a Permanent Resident of Assam and possess a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued by the competent authority.
- Central Government Employee (CGE) Quota: Candidates seeking admission under the CGE quota must submit proof of permanent residency from the concerned state authority outside Assam. Sons/daughters of Central Government or Central Government Public Sector Undertaking employees posted in Assam for less than 20 years and who are not permanent residents of Assam can apply under this quota, subject to the prescribed conditions.
- Qualifying Examination: Candidates must pass the 10+2 examination in a single sitting, without grace marks in the mandatory relevant subjects. They must also pass Theory and Practical examinations separately, wherever applicable.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure:

- Reserved Categories: 40%
The marks are calculated in the relevant subjects taken together. Reserved categories include: OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P) and ST(H).
- Diploma Candidates: Candidates who have passed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology under the State Council for Technical Education, Assam, with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) in the final Diploma examination may also be eligible.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years old on the date of registration for CEE. There is no maximum age limit.
- Moral Character: Candidates must possess good moral character and submit a certificate from the Head of the institution last attended.
- Physical and Mental Fitness: Candidates must be physically and mentally fit and submit the required medical certificate.
5% Government School Quota
An additional 5% of seats in B.Tech/B.E. courses in Assam government engineering colleges are reserved for eligible students who studied:
- Classes VII to X in government schools under SEBA; and
- Classes XI and XII in state government schools, government/provincialised colleges under AHSEC.
SEBA and AHSEC are currently merged as the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
This 5% quota is applicable to eligible candidates belonging to ST, SC, OBC/MOBC (NCL), EWS and General categories, subject to the prescribed conditions and valid certification from the concerned school/college authorities.
