KCET UGCET 2027: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has introduced several important changes and clarifications during CET 2026, particularly in the online application and document-verification process. One of the biggest changes is the introduction of a Candidate Portal, through which candidates can download and print important documents. KEA has also made the CET 2026 application an application-cum-verification module, meaning several details will be verified digitally through government databases.
Candidates appearing for KCET 2026 should understand these changes carefully because the availability of the application printout will depend on the candidate’s eligibility clause and the status of document verification.

Candidate Portal Introduced in KCET UGCET 2026
A Candidate Portal will be available for CET 2026 candidates. Candidates can log in to the portal and download or print important documents such as:
- Application-related documents
- Fee receipt
- Admit card
- Verification slip
- Instructions
- Timetable
- Other documents issued by KEA
This means candidates will have a central online portal through which they can access important CET-related documents instead of depending only on physical copies.
Candidates should regularly check the portal and keep copies of important documents for future admission and counselling requirements.
KCET UGCET 2027 Application Will Be Printed Only After Verification
One of the most important changes is related to the printing of the CET 2026 application form.
After a candidate registers online and submits the CET application, KEA’s web service will retrieve and match certain information electronically.
The system will verify:
- School study details through the SATS number
- Caste details through the RD number
- Caste and Income Certificate details
- Kalyana Karnataka/371(J) details
- Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (NCLC) details
Therefore, candidates must enter their details carefully and provide the correct RD number wherever required.
Who Will Not Get the Application Printout Immediately?
Some candidates will not be able to print the complete application immediately after submitting it.
This applies particularly to candidates who claim eligibility under Clause-a and certain reservations, including:
1. Kannada Medium Reservation
Candidates claiming reservation for studying 10 full academic years in Kannada Medium from 1st to 10th standard fall under this category.
2. Rural Reservation
Candidates claiming reservation based on 10 full academic years of study in rural areas from 1st to 10th standard are also included.
3. Linguistic Minority Reservation
The provision also covers candidates claiming Tulu, Tamil, Telugu or Kodava Linguistic Minority reservation based on the specified period of study.
4. Religious Minority Reservation
Candidates claiming Religious Minority reservation, including Muslim and Christian minority reservation, are also covered under this process.
For these candidates, only the Claim Slip will initially be available for download after submitting the application.
The Claim Certificate will show one of the following statuses:
- Claimed & Verified
- Claimed but Not Verified
- Not Claimed
At this stage, candidates will not have the facility to print the complete CET application form.
What Should These Candidates Do?
Candidates in the above categories have to get their documents verified.
According to the information provided by KEA, these candidates should submit their documents for verification at:
- The college where they are currently studying, or
- Any Government college.
After the documents are verified at the respective college, candidates will be allowed to log in to the Candidate Portal and print the CET 2026 application form.
This is an important point because candidates should not panic if the complete application form is not available immediately after submission.
What About Candidates Under Other Eligibility Clauses?
Candidates claiming the remaining eligibility clauses—B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N and O—will have to get their documents verified by KEA.
After the verification process, they will be able to print the CET 2026 application form through the Candidate Portal.
KEA has stated that the detailed schedule for this verification will be provided later.
Who Can Print the Application Without Visiting an Office or College?
There is an important exception for candidates under Eligibility Clause-a.
If the prescribed seven years of study in Karnataka, including the required 10th or 2nd PUC/12th qualification, are successfully verified for Government-seat eligibility, the Claim Certificate will display the status:
“Successfully Verified”
Once this status appears, the CET 2026 application form will become available for printing on the Candidate Portal.
Such candidates do not need to visit an office or college for document verification.
After the CET 2026 results are declared, the candidate can download the Verification Slip from the portal.
KCET UGCET 2027 SC Internal Reservation
Another important development concerns Scheduled Caste internal reservation.
According to the information provided by KEA, the Government has provided internal reservation for Scheduled Caste candidates under Category-A, Category-B and Category-C.
Therefore, Karnataka SC candidates should obtain an SC certificate containing the internal reservation details from the concerned Tahsildar in the prescribed format.
The candidate must also enter the RD number of the certificate in the KCET application.
Aadhaar and SSLC Name Must Match
Candidates should also pay special attention to their name details. KEA states that the name printed on the SSLC marks card must match the name on the Aadhaar card.
Similarly, the name on the candidate’s caste or caste-income certificate should match the name on the SSLC marks card. Candidates should therefore check these documents before completing the application.
If there is a mismatch in the name on Aadhaar, candidates should get it corrected. They should also ensure that their caste/caste-income certificate carries the correct name.
KCET UGCET 2027 Application Is an Application-Cum-Verification Module
Another major change is that the online application itself works as an application-cum-verification module.
KEA will use:
- SATS to verify school study, Kannada Medium, and Rural Study-related information.
- Revenue Department Web Service/RD Number to verify caste, income, Kalyana Karnataka/371(J) and NCLC-related information.
KEA has stated that there will be no physical verification as a general process, because the application itself incorporates the verification mechanism. However, specific candidates covered by the document-verification provisions described above will still have to complete the required verification before their application printout is enabled.

KCET UGCET 2027 Application Is Common for Multiple Professional Courses
The CET application is common for various professional courses.
These include:
- Engineering
- Medical
- Dental
- AYUSH
- Nursing
- Agriculture
- Veterinary
- Pharmacy
- B.Sc Nursing
- BPT
- BPO
- B.Sc
- Allied Health Science
- D.Pharm and other courses
Candidates have to register, submit the application, and pay the prescribed fee online.
Reservation and Income Certificate
SC, ST and Category-I candidates can receive reservation benefits based on their caste certificate. However, candidates seeking fee exemption need to obtain an income certificate and correctly enter its RD number in the application.
For candidates belonging to 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, the document states that candidates whose family gross annual income is below Rs 8 lakh are eligible to claim the specified reservation benefit.

One Mobile Number for One Application
Candidates should also be careful while providing their mobile number.
An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number for verification. One mobile number should be used for one application only, and the document states that a change of mobile number will not be entertained.
Therefore, candidates should provide a mobile number that they will continue to have access to throughout the admission process.
KCET UGCET 2027 Rural Category: Important Rule
Candidates claiming the Rural category need a Rural Study Certificate issued by the respective school/high school and countersigned by the concerned BEO.
General Merit candidates claiming the Rural category must also submit an NCLC obtained from the concerned Tahsildar and enter its RD number in the online application.
An important clarification is that candidates who did not study in rural areas during their school years cannot claim the Rural category. However, if the place where the candidate studied from 1st to 10th standard was classified as rural during the period of their study, they can remain eligible even if the same location was subsequently declared an urban area.
Kalyana Karnataka Reservation
Candidates claiming reservation under Article 371(J) must possess the prescribed eligibility certificate, namely Annexure-A, issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner.
The candidate must claim the reservation in the application and enter the correct RD number.

KCET Seat Allotment Will Be Based on Merit and Options
KEA will allot seats online according to the candidate’s merit and priority of options.
Candidates can enter as many college/course options as they wish. However, they must enter the options carefully and according to their actual preference.
This means option entry will remain one of the most important stages of KCET counselling. Candidates should not randomly add colleges simply to increase the number of options. Every option entered should be a course and college they are genuinely willing to accept.
Important Warning for Candidates Holding Seats in Other Counselling Systems
A candidate may participate in admission processes such as JEE, NEET, COMED-K and KEA. However, if the candidate receives a seat through another board, the candidate should cancel the KEA-allotted seat before the applicable mop-up/final round.
The document warns that failure to cancel the KEA seat could amount to blocking a seat, and the Government may initiate civil and criminal action in such cases.
How to Surrender a KCET Seat?
If a candidate decides to surrender an allotted seat, simply failing to report to the college does not mean that the seat has been surrendered.
The candidate has to surrender the seat to KEA through the online process by filling in the required details.
Candidates should therefore follow the official surrender procedure instead of assuming that non-reporting automatically cancels their admission.
KCET 2026: What Candidates Should Do Now
Candidates should keep the following checklist ready:
- Check the name on the SSLC marks card.
- Compare it with the Aadhaar name.
- Check the name on caste/caste-income certificates.
- Keep the correct RD numbers ready.
- Check SATS study details.
- Keep study certificates ready where SATS information is unavailable.
- Candidates claiming Rural quota should arrange the Rural Study Certificate.
- General Merit Rural candidates should also arrange the NCLC.
- Candidates claiming 371(J) reservation should keep the required certificate and RD number ready.
- Keep the registered mobile number active.
- Regularly check the KEA website and Candidate Portal.
- Download and preserve every important document issued through the portal.

Final Words
The biggest change in KCET UGCET 2027 is the greater integration of the application and verification process. KEA will use digital services such as SATS and Revenue Department data through RD numbers to verify many candidate details. At the same time, candidates claiming certain eligibility or reservation benefits may have to complete additional document verification before the full application form becomes available for printing.
Candidates should therefore not worry if the complete application printout is not immediately available. First, they should check the Claim Certificate status and understand whether their particular eligibility clause requires additional verification.
Most importantly, candidates should ensure that their SSLC, Aadhaar, caste/caste-income, and other certificates carry matching details, enter correct RD numbers, keep their registered mobile number active, and regularly check the KEA Candidate Portal for updates.
