WBJEE ANM GNM 2027 Eligibility Criteria: WBJEE conducts the ANM/GNM exam for nursing courses in the state. Candidates will get admission to nursing courses. For this, they will have to satisfy the eligibility criteria. Candidates seeking admission through the ANM(R) & GNM 2027 Entrance Examination must fulfil the prescribed eligibility requirements related to citizenship, domicile, age, educational qualification, gender, language, and medical fitness.

What is WBJEE ANM GNM 2027?

WBJEE ANM GNM 2026 is a state-level common entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) for admission to ANM(R) and GNM nursing programmes offered by participating institutions in West Bengal.

  • ANM(R): Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery is a 2-year diploma programme for female candidates.
  • GNM: General Nursing & Midwifery is a 3-year diploma programme open to both female and male candidates.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognised Board with at least 40% marks in aggregate. A 5% relaxation in the total marks is available for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-A (More Backward) and OBC-B (Backward) categories. Candidates must also have passed English in the 10+2 examination.

Eligibility for Vocational Stream Candidates

Candidates who have completed Class 12 through the vocational stream may also be eligible, subject to the specified conditions. CBSE Board: Candidates passing Class 12 in the Vocational Stream must belong to the Health Care Science discipline.

West Bengal Higher Secondary (Vocational): Candidates who passed the examination from 2023 onwards with Healthcare Science under the Community Healthcare Group must have passed any two of the following subjects:

  • Community Health Counsellor (COHC)
  • Patient Care Assistant (PTCA)
  • Public Health and Emergency Care Assistant (PHEC)

Candidates who passed the West Bengal Higher Secondary (Vocational) Examination before 2023 with the Community Healthcare Group under the Home Science discipline and the following three vocational papers will also be eligible:

  • Community Nutrition
  • Hospital Management
  • Public Health & First Aid

This eligibility is subject to the notifications issued by the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development.

Medical Fitness Requirement

All candidates must be medically fit for the course. At the time of admission, candidates will have to produce a Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed format given in Appendix 3 of the ANM(R) & GNM 2026 Information Bulletin.

  • ANM(R) admission is restricted to female candidates.
  • GNM admission is open to female and male candidates.
  • There are two government institutions for male candidates and a few private institutions offering GNM admission to males.
  • Candidates must satisfy the prescribed West Bengal residence requirement.
