NIMCET 2026 Qualifying Criteria and Ranking
Disqualification Rule
- Candidates with zero or negative marks in Mathematics or Total Marks are disqualified—no rank allotted.
Rank Calculation
- Weighted Marks: Sum scores from Mathematics (380 max), Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning (300 max), Computer Awareness (240 max), and English (80 max) → Maximum: 1000 marks.
- Primary Ranking: Based on total weighted marks (highest first).
Tie-Breaker Policy (in order)
- Higher marks in Mathematics.
- Higher marks in Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning (if Math ties).
- Higher marks in Computer Awareness (if above tie).
- Older age (if above tie).
- Random computer sampling (final resolver).
Important Notes
- Ranks available on the official website (nimcet.admissions.nic.in)—download your rank statement/score card there.
- No physical rank statements sent.
- NIMCET ranks used by other universities in past years, but NIMCET-2026 has no role in their admissions.
Example: Two candidates tie at 850/1000. If Candidate A has 300 Math vs. B’s 290, A ranks higher regardless of other sections.

The maximum number of seats in reserved category is OBC which has 331 available seats. Others category such as SC has 182, ST has 93 seats and EWS has 125 seats
