UCEED 2027 BDes Seat Allotment Schedule

The UCEED 2027 schedule will be in line with the UCEED 2026 schedule. Hardly any date will go up or down to start the seat allotment of UCEED 2027.

What Happens If a Candidate Does Not Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee?

Candidates who are allotted a seat but do not pay the Seat Acceptance Fee within the specified deadline will have their allotment cancelled.

Such candidates:

  • Will not be considered in subsequent rounds.
  • Will lose their current seat allocation.
  • Cannot participate in further seat allotment rounds under the process.

The vacant seat may subsequently be offered to another eligible candidate.

What If the First Choice Is Allotted?

If a candidate receives their first-choice institute, they have two options:

Accept/Freeze

The candidate can accept the allotted seat by choosing the Freeze option. This confirms the seat, and the candidate will not participate in subsequent rounds.

Decline

If the candidate declines the first-choice seat, the current allocation will be cancelled, and the candidate will not be considered in subsequent rounds. Therefore, candidates should carefully consider their decision before declining a first-choice allotment.

What If the Second, Third or Other Choice Is Allotted?

If a candidate receives their second, third, fourth or fifth choice, they can choose between Freeze and Float.

Freeze Option

Choosing Freeze means that the candidate accepts the allotted institute and does not want to participate in further seat allotment rounds. Such candidates will not be considered for subsequent rounds.

Float Option

Choosing Float means that the candidate accepts the currently allotted seat but wants to be considered for an institute that is higher in their preference list in subsequent rounds. If a higher-preference institute is allotted in a later round, the previous seat will automatically be forfeited and replaced by the new allotment.

Seat Acceptance Fee Has to Be Paid Only Once

Candidates who accept a seat have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee only once. If a candidate chooses the Float option and receives a higher-preference institute in a subsequent round, they do not have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee again. However, candidates must ensure that the complete fee is paid within the applicable deadline of the round in which they are initially allotted a seat.

Refund of Seat Acceptance Fee

For candidates who accept a seat and later withdraw within the permitted withdrawal period, the refund depends on the applicable round and institute rules. Candidates who pay the Seat Acceptance Fee in Rounds I and II can withdraw up to the Round II withdrawal deadline and claim a refund after applicable cancellation and processing charges.

The refund amount is:

CategorySeat Acceptance FeeRefundDeduction
GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL₹ 60,000₹ 55,000₹ 5,000
SC/ST/PwD₹ 15,000₹ 10,000₹ 5,000

Refund for Rounds III, IV and V

Rounds III, IV and V are conducted to fill vacant seats, if any. Candidates can withdraw according to the prescribed withdrawal schedule for Rounds III and IV. However, Seat Acceptance Fees paid in Rounds III, IV and V are not refundable.

Important Rule for Float Candidates

The Float option remains active until the payment deadline of Round IV. Candidates who choose Float should understand that receiving a higher-preference institute in a later round will automatically result in the forfeiture of the previously accepted seat.

What Happens After the Final Round?

After the announcement of Round V, candidates cannot withdraw or decline an accepted/allotted seat. Therefore, candidates should carefully consider their choices and understand the withdrawal and refund rules before accepting a seat.
