RRB Paramedical Syllabus 2026: The RRB Paramedical CEN 03/2025 syllabus consists of post-specific Professional Ability subjects along with common sections covering General Arithmetic, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.

RRB Paramedical Syllabus 2026 & Exam Pattern and Selection Process

The RRB Paramedical 2026 CBT will consist of 100 questions carrying 100 marks. The Professional Ability section will have the highest weightage, with 70 questions for 70 marks.

Negative Marking

There will be negative marking in the Computer-Based Test. For every incorrect answer, 1/3 of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Candidates must secure the prescribed minimum qualifying marks according to their category:

RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026

Shortlisting for Document Verification

Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification (DV) and empanelment strictly based on merit in the CBT, subject to meeting the prescribed minimum qualifying marks.

Candidates equal to the number of available vacancies will be called for Document Verification in the main list, maintaining a 1:1 ratio. There will be no standby list.

Tie-Breaking Rule

If two or more candidates obtain equal marks, their merit position will be decided based on age. The older candidate will receive a higher merit position than the younger candidate.

Document Verification

At the time of Document Verification, candidates must produce their original certificates. No additional time will be provided for producing the required original documents. Candidates who fail to produce the original certificates on the scheduled date may have their candidature forfeited.

Empanelment and Medical Examination

Empanelment will be based on:

  • CBT merit
  • Successful Document Verification
  • Passing the prescribed medical examination

Appointment of selected candidates will also be subject to:

  • Passing the required Medical Fitness Test
  • Final verification of educational certificates
  • Verification of community/category certificates
  • Verification of character and antecedents

Railway Zone/Production Unit Allotment

After completion of the recruitment process, RRB will allot a Railway Zone or Production Unit to eligible candidates based on their:

  • Merit
  • Medical standard
  • Vacancy position
  • Preference/option given by the candidate

Once candidates are empanelled according to their merit and preference, they will forfeit the right to be considered for their preference in the next priority Zone/Unit. However, RRBs may allot a Railway Zone/Unit not opted for by the candidate if required in the administrative interest of the Railways, subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

Who Issues the Appointment Letter?

RRBs only recommend the names of empanelled candidates to the concerned Railway Administrations. The actual offer of appointment is issued by the respective Railway Administration.
