Sonakshi Sinha, Sonam Wangchuk Extend Support to Jharkhand Students’ Protest; CJP Also Joins Movement
The ongoing students’ protest in Jharkhand has gained national attention after actor Sonakshi Sinha, environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke extended their support to the agitating youth.
Students have been staging an indefinite sit-in protest at a stadium in Ranchi since July 29, demanding an independent investigation into alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC examination, JSSC-CGL recruitment, and other state recruitment exams. Protesters are also seeking comprehensive reforms in Jharkhand’s recruitment process to ensure transparency and fairness.
Actor Sonakshi Sinha voiced her support through a series of Instagram posts, urging authorities to listen to the concerns of the students. Her public endorsement has brought wider national attention to the movement and amplified the students’ demands for accountability.
Education reformer Sonam Wangchuk also backed the protest. In a symbolic gesture of solidarity, he reportedly offered water to protest leader Mahoto, expressing support for the students’ peaceful agitation and their demand for a transparent recruitment system.
Adding to the growing support, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke announced on Wednesday that his organization would stand with the protesting students. Speaking after a CJP core committee meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, Dipke said the party would travel to Ranchi and function as a “pressure group” to demand institutional accountability and justice for job aspirants.
The movement has steadily gained momentum, with support from public figures, social activists, and youth organizations across the country. As the protest enters another week, pressure continues to mount on the Jharkhand government to order an independent probe and introduce long-term reforms in recruitment agencies to restore the confidence of lakhs of aspirants.
