  • Correct answer: +2 marks

Therefore, candidates should avoid random guessing, particularly when they are not reasonably confident about the answer.

PUBDET 2027 Answer Key and Result

After the examination, WBJEEB publishes the model answer key for candidates to check their responses. Candidates can challenge answer keys online by paying the prescribed fee. The Board subsequently publishes the final/frozen answer key. The PUBDET result is issued through a Rank Card, which contains the candidate’s score and rank. WBJEEB does not publish a general rank list.

PUBDET 2027 Ranking

WBJEEB prepares merit ranks according to candidates’ entrance-test scores. The rank is called the General Merit Rank (GMR). In case of a tie, the candidate with the less negative score receives the higher rank. If the tie remains, candidates may receive the same rank and be considered together during counselling.

PUBDET Counselling and Admission

After the result, WBJEEB publishes a separate counselling and admission notification. Course-wise seat availability is also published before counselling and seat allotment.

Candidates should remember that qualifying for PUBDET or obtaining a rank does not automatically guarantee admission. Admission remains subject to eligibility verification, seat availability, and the applicable counselling rules.

PUBDET 2027 Preparation Strategy

Students preparing for PUBDET 2027 should start with the syllabus prescribed for their chosen paper.

1. Understand the Class 11-12 syllabus

The 2025 bulletin indicates that PUBDET papers are based on Class 11 and 12-level syllabi. Therefore, candidates should thoroughly revise their school-level concepts.

2. Choose papers carefully

Since candidates can select up to three papers in PUBDET 2025, students should choose subjects in which they have both strong academic preparation and eligibility for the corresponding Presidency University programme.

3. Practise MCQs

PUBDET is an objective examination, so solving MCQs regularly is important. Candidates should practise previous-year questions and timed mock tests.

4. Focus on accuracy

The negative marking of 0.5 marks makes accuracy important. Candidates should avoid excessive guessing.

5. Practise OMR marking

Because the examination is OMR-based, students should practise filling bubbles correctly and avoid overwriting or attempting to erase responses.

PUBDET 2027: Important Documents

Candidates should keep the following documents ready while applying:

  • Class 10 certificate/mark sheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet or equivalent qualification
  • Recent photograph
  • Signature
  • Category certificate, if applicable
  • PwD certificate, if applicable
  • Domicile certificate, wherever applicable
  • Valid identity proof

Candidates should enter their personal information carefully because primary registration information such as name, parents’ names, domicile and date of birth cannot be changed after submission under the 2025 rules.

PUBDET 2027: What Candidates Should Watch

The PUBDET 2027 notification, application dates, examination dates, eligibility conditions, fee, paper pattern, and seat matrix are yet to be confirmed. Students should use the 2025 information only as a preparation reference and check WBJEEB’s official PUBDET page when the 2027 admission cycle opens.
