The ONGC Graduate Engineer Recruitment 2026 selection process consists of three stages: a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Personal Interview, and Medical Fitness Test. Candidates must qualify at each stage to be considered for final appointment.
ONGC Selection Process 2026
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The first stage is an online CBT carrying 85 objective-type questions for 85 marks. The test assesses domain knowledge along with aptitude, English, and general awareness. There is no negative marking.
2. Personal Interview
Candidates shortlisted based on their CBT performance are invited for a Personal Interview, which carries 15 marks. The interview evaluates technical knowledge, communication skills, problem-solving ability, and overall suitability for the role.
3. Medical Fitness Test
Only candidates who qualify the CBT and Personal Interview and are placed in the merit list are called for the Medical Fitness Test. This stage is qualifying in nature and ensures that candidates meet the medical standards prescribed by ONGC for executive posts. A candidate who fails the medical examination will not be appointed, even if they have secured a place in the merit list.
