NLU has described The AILET PG Syllabus 2027 for admission to its LL.M. programme. The syllabus is designed to assess a candidate’s understanding of the core subjects studied during the LL.B. programme. The examination consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering various branches of law. In recent years, NLU Delhi revised the exam pattern by removing the descriptive section, making the examination entirely objective.

Candidates who have studied their law in the last qualifying examination will be able to understand the subject and subject, this should not be big hurdle for them to clear the entrance exam

AILET PG Syllabus 2027

The AILET PG Syllabus 2027 includes questions from the following major legal subjects:

  • Constitutional Law – Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Union-State Relations, Constitutional Amendments, Judicial Review, and Constitutional Bodies.
  • Jurisprudence – Schools of law, legal concepts, rights and duties, legal personality, ownership, possession, and justice.
  • Administrative Law – Principles of natural justice, delegated legislation, administrative tribunals, and judicial control of administrative actions.
  • Law of Contract – General principles of contracts, indemnity, guarantee, bailment, agency, partnership, and specific performance.
  • Law of Torts – General principles, negligence, nuisance, vicarious liability, strict liability, and consumer protection.
  • Family Law – Marriage, divorce, adoption, succession, maintenance, and guardianship under different personal laws.
  • Criminal Law – General principles of criminal liability, offences, punishments, criminal procedure, and evidence.
  • Property Law – Transfer of Property Act, easements, mortgages, leases, gifts, and actionable claims.
  • Company Law – Incorporation, management, corporate governance, directors, shareholders, and winding up.
  • Public International Law – Sources of international law, treaties, state responsibility, international organizations, and human rights.
  • Environmental Law – Environmental protection legislation, pollution control, biodiversity, sustainable development, and environmental governance.
  • Labour and Industrial Law – Industrial disputes, wages, social security, trade unions, and labour welfare legislation.
  • Tax Law – Basic concepts of direct and indirect taxation and important provisions of tax laws.

Candidates should focus on building conceptual clarity, revising important statutory provisions, landmark judgments, and solving previous years’ question papers. Since the syllabus is largely based on the LL.B. curriculum, thorough revision of core law subjects and regular mock test practice can significantly improve performance in the AILET PG 2027 examination.
