WBJEE 2027

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2027 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) for admission to undergraduate Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.), Pharmacy, and Architecture programmes offered by government, private, and self-financed institutions in West Bengal.

Note: The application form used to open in late December earlier; for the last two years, the application form has been opening very late. We hope that this time it will follow its regular schedule of December. The schedule below is based on previous years’ trends and will be updated after the official notification is issued.

JEE Main 2027 Seats

You must know that 10 per cent of the seats are reserved for candidates who have appeared in the JEE Main 2027 and achieved the AIR.

If I appeared in the JEE Main, will it be enough for BTech Admission?

It is up to you; you can appear for JEE Main 2027 or WBJEE 2027. If you appear for WBJEE 20,,27 you are amongst the 85 percent of students who can get admission in BTech colleges.

WBJEE 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

  1. Indian Citizens are eligible.
  2. OCI candidates may also be eligible for certain courses as per WBJEEB rules.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • Passed or appearing in Class 12 (10+2)
  • Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
  • Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application as one optional subject

Course-wise Eligibility

1. Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.)

Candidates must have:

  • Passed 10+2 (Class 12) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject as one optional subject.
  • Secured at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD) in the three required subjects.
  • Candidates who have passed D.Voc. in the same or allied sector are also eligible for applicable courses.

2. Pharmacy (B.Pharm/Pharm.D.)

Candidates must:

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • Obtain at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories) in these subjects.
  • Secure at least 30% marks in English.
  • The qualifying board must be recognized by the Central or State Government.

3. Architecture (B.Arch)

Candidates must:

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • Score 50% aggregate marks in PCM and 50% overall in Class 12.
  • Qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA).

4. Marine Engineering

Candidates must:

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Secure at least 60% aggregate marks in PCM with individual pass marks in each subject.
  • Obtain 50% marks in English in either Class 10 or Class 12.

5. Mining Engineering

The eligibility is the same as B.Tech/B.E., with one additional requirement:

  • Candidates must not have colour blindness or uniocular vision (vision in only one eye).

Agricultural Engineering Eligibility (WBJEE 2027 – Expected)

Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering through WBJEE 2027 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have passed 10+2 (Class 12) with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application/Agriculture/Technical Vocational Subject.
  • Candidates from the Agriculture stream are also eligible for admission to Agricultural Engineering.
  • Must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in the three required subjects (40% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates).
  • Candidates who have passed a Diploma in Vocational (D.Voc.) in the same or allied sector are also eligible, subject to the admission rules of participating institutions.

Special eligibility requirement for the following colleges

Special Academic Criteria for WBJEE 2027 (Expected)

University of Calcutta

  • Minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (55% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD).
  • At least 30% marks in English.

Jadavpur University

Engineering/Pharmacy

  • Minimum 60% (General/EWS), 54% (OBC-A/OBC-B), 45% (SC/ST/PwD) in PCM.
  • Same minimum percentage required in Mathematics.
  • At least 30% marks in English.

Architecture

  • Minimum 50% in PCM and overall Class 12 (45% for reserved categories).
  • Must qualify NATA or JEE Main Paper-II.

Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya

(B.Tech Agricultural Engineering)

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories).

West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences

(B.Tech Dairy Technology)

  • Must be an Indian citizen, West Bengal domicile, and 17 years or above.
  • Must qualify WBJEE.
  • Pass 10+2 with PCM and English.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate (40% for reserved categories).

Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya

(B.Tech Agricultural Engineering)

  • Pass 10+2 with English, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Agriculture.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories).

Aliah University

  • Must study Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (100 marks each) in Class 12.
  • Minimum 50% in PCM and 60% overall in Class 12.
  • All other WBJEE rules will also apply.

IS University

B.Tech

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD).
  • Must have passed English and secured 50% overall in Class 12.

B.Pharm

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate (55% for reserved categories).
  • Must have passed English and secured 60% overall in Class 12.

Techno India University

  • Minimum 45% marks in PCM or Physics, Mathematics & Computer Science.
  • Minimum 60% in both Class 10 and Class 12.

B.Tech (Lateral Entry)

  • Minimum 60% in Class 10 and Diploma.

B.Arch

  • Eligibility as per COA norms.
  • Minimum 60% in both Class 10 and Class 12.

B.Pharm & B.Tech (Biotechnology)

  • Minimum 45% in the required subjects.
  • Minimum 60% in both Class 10 and Class 12.

  • B.Tech CSE & Biotechnology: Minimum 60% aggregate in Class 12.
  • Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical & Civil Engineering: Minimum 55% aggregate.
  • Minimum 45% marks in the required subjects.
  • B.Pharm: Minimum 60% aggregate in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English.

Sister Nivedita University

B.Tech

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics and one eligible optional subject.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories).
  • D.Voc candidates are also eligible.

B.Arch

B.Tech (CSE Specializations)

  • Minimum 60% in Class 12.

  • Candidates with a 3-year Engineering Diploma are also eligible.

WBJEE 2027 Domicile Requirements

Candidates must be domiciled in West Bengal for admission to the following:

  • All seats (including General category) in Government-aided Engineering, Technology, and Pharmacy Colleges.
  • All seats in B.Tech (Dairy Technology) at West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences.
  • 90% of General category seats at Jadavpur University.
  • All reserved category seats (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, PwD, TFW) in participating institutes.
  • Admission to Aliah University also requires West Bengal domicile.

Note: Candidates must obtain the prescribed West Bengal Domicile Certificate in the required format and produce it during counselling and admission.

Admission Through JEE Main 2027

Candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2027 are eligible for admission to up to 10% of the approved seats in Self-Financed Engineering and Technology Colleges in West Bengal. Such candidates must also satisfy the WBJEE 2027 eligibility criteria prescribed for admission to Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture programmes.

Minimum Marks

For Engineering:

  • Minimum 45% aggregate (General)
  • 40% aggregate (Reserved categories)

Candidates must also meet the individual institute’s admission criteria.

WBJEE 2027 Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 17 years
  • No upper age limit for most courses.
  • Certain programmes may have specific upper age requirements.

WBJEE 2027 Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme

  • The Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme is offered by the Government of West Bengal to support meritorious students from economically weaker families. To be eligible, candidates must be domiciled in West Bengal and have an annual family income of less than ₹2.5 lakh. Under this scheme, only the tuition fee is waived, while students are required to pay all other applicable fees.

WBJEE 2027 Uploading of Images

  • A recent coloured passport-size photograph in JPG/JPEG format (file size: 10 KB to 200 KB).
  • A signature in JPG/JPEG format (file size: 4 KB to 30 KB).

Merit Rank

General Merit Rank (GMR)

The General Merit Rank (GMR) is prepared based on the combined scores of Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics & Chemistry). It is used for admission to B.Tech, B.E., Architecture, and Pharmacy at Jadavpur University. Counselling and seat allotment are conducted based on the GMR only, while category ranks (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, PwD, TFW, etc.) are displayed on the rank card for reference.

Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR)

The Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) is prepared based only on the Paper II (Physics & Chemistry) score. It is used for admission to Pharmacy courses (including Pharm.D.) in all participating institutes except Jadavpur University. Counselling and seat allotment for these courses are based solely on the PMR, while category ranks are shown separately on the rank card.
