Team NTA & Team Bharat: How a Nation United for NEET (UG) 2026
On June 21, 2026, more than 20 lakh candidates took the NEET (UG) re-examination across 5,440 domestic centres and 14 international locations. Administered in 13 languages (including Hindi and English), the monumental task was not achieved by the National Testing Agency (NTA) alone.
It was a true “Team Bharat” effort—a synchronized national network ensuring that, on exam morning, a student’s only focus was the paper in front of them.
1. Inclusivity and Care for Every Candidate
The administrative machinery prioritized accessibility and dignity for every single aspirant:
- Over 10,000 Persons with Disabilities (PwD) received tailored accommodations.
- Specialized medical arrangements were coordinated for approximately 81 candidates with severe health challenges. This included dedicated support for a student recovering from a recent road accident and another undergoing chemotherapy, ensuring their years of preparation did not go to waste.
2. A Whole-of-Government Security Apparatus
To safeguard the integrity of the examination, a multi-layered security and monitoring framework was deployed nationwide:
- Authentication & Monitoring: Advanced biometric verification, face authentication, comprehensive CCTV surveillance, and signal jammers were implemented at all venues.
- Two-Layer Security: State Police forces managed stringent two-layer frisking protocols.
- Command & Control Hubs: Live CCTV monitoring rooms operated at national, state, and district levels—spanning the NTA, the Ministry of Education, 34 Centrally Funded Institutions, and various District Collectorates.
3. Inter-Ministerial & Institutional Synergy
The seamless execution of the exam relied on unprecedented cross-sector cooperation, including:
- Law Enforcement & Logistics: Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), State Governments, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Global & Domestic Transport: The Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Air Force, the Department of Posts, and the Ministry of Railways.
- Technical & Infrastructure Support: NIC, MeitY, and the Ministry of Defence.
- Financial & Healthcare Support: The Department of Financial Services, key banking partners (SBI, Canara Bank, PNB, and UCO Bank), and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Going the Extra Mile: Several State Governments stepped up by transforming local protocols into community care—providing shaded waiting areas, clean drinking water, food for parents and students, standby ambulances, and free public transportation on exam day.
