Read the following passage carefully and answer Questions 1–5:

The principle of natural justice is an important part of fair legal procedure. It ensures that a person affected by a decision is given a reasonable opportunity to present his or her case. One of the fundamental rules of natural justice is audi alteram partem, which means “hear the other side.” This principle requires that a person should generally be informed of the allegations or grounds against them and should be allowed to respond before an adverse decision is taken.

Another important principle is that a person should not be a judge in his or her own case. This principle seeks to prevent bias and ensures that decisions are made by an impartial authority.
