AAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27

The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Northern Region has invited applications for engagement of Graduate, Diploma and ITI Apprentices for the year 2026-27 under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year at various airports and establishments under AAI Northern Region.

A total of 205 apprenticeship seats are available across Graduate, Diploma and ITI categories.

AAI Apprentice StipendAAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend during the one-year apprenticeship:

  • Graduate Apprentices: ₹15,000 per month
  • Diploma/Technical Apprentices: ₹12,000 per month
  • ITI Trade Apprentices: ₹9,600 per month

The graduate and diploma stipend includes the AAI contribution and Government contribution through DBT, as specified in the notification.

AAI Apprentice Eligibility 2026

Candidates must fulfil the following conditions:

Nationality and domicile:
Only Indian nationals who are domiciles of Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand can apply.

Educational QualificationAAI Apprentice Recruitment 2026

  • Graduate Apprentices: Full-time regular 4-year degree in the relevant engineering/discipline from an institution recognized by AICTE/Government of India.
  • Diploma Apprentices: Full-time regular 3-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from an AICTE-recognized institution.
  • ITI Apprentices: Relevant ITI/NCVT certificate from a recognized institution.

Candidates who passed their qualifying degree/diploma in 2024 or later are eligible.

Age Limit

The candidate’s age should be:

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 26 years
  • Cut-off date: 16 September 2026

Relaxation in the upper age limit will be available to eligible SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.

Who Cannot Apply?

Candidates will not be eligible if they:

  • Have already completed an apprenticeship.
  • Have terminated an apprenticeship midway.
  • Are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in another organization or AAI at the same qualification level.
  • Have already undergone apprenticeship training/job experience of one year or more after obtaining the essential qualification.

AAI Apprentice Selection Process

The selection process will primarily be based on the candidate’s percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.

The process includes:

  1. Shortlisting based on qualifying examination marks.
  2. Calling shortlisted candidates for document verification/interview through their registered email ID.
  3. Verification of original certificates and other documents.
  4. Medical fitness examination.
  5. Final selection based on merit and successful verification.
  6. Issue of apprenticeship engagement letter to selected candidates.

In case candidates have the same percentage, date of birth and thereafter date of passing will be considered for determining seniority, as mentioned in the notification.

AAI Apprentice Training Locations

The apprenticeship training will be conducted at various airports and establishments in the Northern Region. Locations mentioned in the notification include Adampur, Amritsar, Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Bathinda, Bikaner, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Hindon, Hisar, Jammu, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kangra-Gaggal, Kanpur, Khajuraho, Kullu-Bhuntar, Lucknow, Leh, Moradabad, Meerut, Pantnagar, Pathankot, Prayagraj, Safdarjung, Srinagar, Shimla, Udaipur and Varanasi, along with various offices in New Delhi.

The allotted airport/station/unit will be final and requests for changing the training location will not be entertained at a later stage.
