NIFT 2024 Application form opened on 5 December. Candidates can apply for admission to various UG and PG-level courses. NIFT is renowned for its quality education in Fashion and boasts of high placement every year.

NIFT Advance City Allotment Slip has been released by NTA. Candidate can download it from the NTA website by entering their details. The schedule of the Exam is given below-:

1. B.Des. (Fashion Design / Leather Design / Accessory Design / Textile Design / Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication)

·         Candidate who is 10+2 pass out of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi ·         General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) ·         Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system ·         National open School students with a passing

grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination of five subjects can apply

Note : Candidates who are appearing for their Board examinations in the year of Admission, can also apply, these students must fulfil necessary eligibility conditions at the time of counselling/admission as mentioned in the Prospectus.

2. Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech.)

Candidates must have passed any of the following:

·         Candidate is +2 pass out of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics and Mathematics or

·         General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB) or

·         Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics and Mathematics or

·         National open School students with a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination of five subjects can apply

·         Or

·         Diploma holder of 3 or 4-years in any branch of Engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

Note: Candidates who are appearing for their Board examinations in the year of Admission, can also apply, subject to fulfilling necessary eligibility conditions at the time of counselling/admission as mentioned in the Admission Prospectus.

RESERVATION OF SEATS

The seats reserved for various categories in each programme are as under:

Scheduled Castes 15%

Scheduled Tribes 7.5%

Other Backward Communities (non creamy) 27%

Persons With Disability (PWD) 5% (horizontal reservation cutting across categories)

EWS 10% within open Category seats

Foreign Nationals/ SAARC/NRI 15% (supernumerary)

State Domiciles 20% (supernumerary)

35% for Jammu , Kashmir and Ladakh at Srinagar Campus.

The qualifying candidates need to meet the eligibility and admission requirements of NIFT.

Design: M.Des (Master of Design)

Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:

  • Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India or
  • Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

Note: Master of Design (M.Des.) is an advanced course that demands an understanding of fundamentals in design and presupposes that candidates would be familiar with the basic skills and theories for successful completion of the programme. The course would not provide any basic knowledge and skill development in design as a part of its Master programme.

Management: M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management)

Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:

·         Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India

OR

·         Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID

Technology: M.F.Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)

Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:

·         B.F.Tech. from NIFT

OR

·         B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.
