IGNOU Bachelor Programme. The University offers 40 undergraduate programmes across the major stream rights from Arts, Commerce and Science. It offers courses in management and industry-related courses in commerce section. The university also offers course in the hospitality industry which is a job industry course.
For some of the course, the candidate’s formal education of 10+2 is not required nor does the University demands any percentage for admission. The university offers admission through a bridge course known as BPP.

The University offers admission to students to its Bachelors programmes from both formal and non-formal scheme.
Non Formal- the non-formal stream consists of those students who have not cleared 10+2 or equivalent exam. To take admission to IGNOU’s degree programme they have to pass its Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme (BPP) first. There is no entrance test for seeking admission.
Medium of Instruction
The BA programme is on offered in English and Hindi. The student has to opt for a particular medium of study while applying for admission to the programme.
Fee Structure: A total of `7200/- is to be paid for the Bachelor of Arts Programme @ `2400/year. In the First year, in addition to `2400/-, a Registration fee of `200/- also has to be paid. The programme fee should be paid only by means of Debit Card/Credit Card through online mode only. Fee once paid is not refundable.
Psychology courses have a Practicum component. Learners opting for Psychology are required to pay an extra fee of `600/-
The Bachelor of Arts programme has a number of disciplines and courses from different Schools of Studies. At present, the following twelve Disciplines are part of the programme:

Programme Structure
The Bachelor of Arts is a 132-credit programme consisting of the different categories of courses as mentioned below-:
- Twelve Core courses, four from each of the two disciplines and four language core courses
- Two Discipline specific electives from each of the two disciplines,
- Two Ability Enhancement compulsory courses,
- Four Skill Enhancement courses and
- Two Generic electives.
The mix of these courses varies in each of the six semesters. However, a total number of credits to study in each semester is 22 credits.Â

B.A.(Hon.) History has fourteen Core courses of six credits each. The course has the six semesters of your programme.
Alongside four Discipline Specific Elective courses are offered to the students in the fifth and the sixth semesters. Together these core courses and the discipline-specific electives offer a basic perspective on Indian, Far Eastern, European and Environmental histories.
The idea behind these courses is that the students develop a historical sense that they can build on in their post-graduate years. The University also offer this programme Generic Elective courses which are interdisciplinary in nature and these would help the students in their study of history by placing the discipline of history in the context of wider social sciences.
Currently, the University is specifying the generic electives you have to take in the first four semesters. Ability Enhancement courses are offered in the first four semesters which develop a practical and vocational perspective. (Please see the list of courses we have given for this.)
