The JEPBN 2026 examination was scheduled for June 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The bulletin states that the examination would be conducted only once, and there would be no additional examination for candidates unable to appear on the scheduled date and time.
JEPBN 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Read the eligibility criteria before applying for JEBPN 2027. Candidates applying for JEBPN 2027 should be Indian citizens and domiciled in West Bengal. The examination was open to both male and female candidates.
For admission, candidates were required to:
- Pass the 10+2 examination from a recognised Board.

West Bengal State Government employees were required to have at least three years of qualifying uninterrupted/regularised government service experience as on the last date of application.
Work experience was not mandatory for other candidates, including ESI and Central Government employees.
JEPBN 2027 Syllabus
The JEPBN question paper was based on the GNM syllabus and was divided into two parts.
Part A — 40 Questions
The first part covered:

JEPBN 2027 Exam Pattern
The question paper contained 100 MCQs, with four options for every question and only one correct answer. Candidates were given 90 minutes to complete the paper. The questions were available only in English.
Marking Scheme
The examination followed negative marking:
- Correct answer: +1 mark
- Incorrect answer: -0.25 mark
- More than one option marked: -0.25 mark
- Unattempted question: 0 marks
Therefore, candidates needed to be careful while making guesses because an incorrect response resulted in a 25% negative mark.
JEPBN 2027 OMR Instructions
JEPBN 2027 was conducted using an OMR sheet. Candidates had to completely darken the appropriate circle using the blue or black ballpoint pen provided by the Board. Incomplete marking, pencil marking, ticks, crosses, dots, overwriting, erasing, scratching, or marking outside the circle could result in incorrect or ambiguous reading of the response. The Board also stated that responses could not be edited or erased.
JEPBN 2027 Admit Card
The JEPBN 2027 admit cards would be generated on the notified date, and candidates had to download and print them. A printed hard copy of the admit card was mandatory for appearing in the examination.
Candidates were specifically advised to preserve the admit card because the confirmation page and admit card could not be downloaded after the examination.
Documents Required at the Exam Centre
Candidates were required to carry:
- Printed copy of the admit card
- Copy of the colour photograph uploaded during application
- Original photo identity card such as:
- Aadhaar card
- PAN card

- Voter card
- Class 10 admit card

JEPBN 2027 Examination Centre
The examination was to be conducted only in the Kolkata-Salt Lake/New Town zone. Candidates were not permitted to appear at a centre other than the one allotted to them and mentioned on their admit card.
Candidates were advised to reach the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. Entry after the scheduled commencement time was not permitted.
JEPBN 2027 Application Fee
The application fee was ₹3,000, excluding applicable bank service charges. Payment could be made through:

The fee was non-refundable. PwD candidates eligible under the specified provisions could receive a 40% concession in the application fee, subject to applying to the Board as prescribed.
JEPBN 2027 Application Form
The JEPBN application process was online. No printed application form was available. Candidates were required to use the genuine application form provided through the WBJEEB website.
Candidates had to provide personal and academic information and upload:
- Recent colour photograph — 10 KB to 200 KB
- Signature — 4 KB to 30 KB
Both images had to be uploaded in the prescribed format.
After completing the application and payment process, candidates had to download the Confirmation Page. The bulletin clearly states that the application would remain incomplete until the Confirmation Page was generated.
JEPBN 2027 Application Correction
Candidates could correct eligible information only during the notified correction period.
However, the following primary registration details could not be changed:

- Father’s name
- Mother’s name
- Domicile
- Date of birth
Other eligible details could be modified during the correction period, but no correction was entertained after the deadline.
JEPBN 2027 Domicile Requirement
West Bengal domicile was an important eligibility requirement. Candidates generally had to be domiciled in West Bengal for admission, except for specified West Bengal Government employees covered by the applicable rules.
A candidate could qualify as a West Bengal domicile if they had:
- Resided in West Bengal continuously for at least 10 years as on December 31, 2025, or
- A parent who was a permanent resident of West Bengal with a permanent address in the state.
Candidates were required to keep the appropriate domicile certificate ready for counselling and admission.
JEPBN 2027 Result and Rank Card
WBJEEB prepared the merit list based on candidates’ scores in the entrance test. Candidates could download their individual Rank Card, which contained their score and rank. The Board did not publish a public rank/score list. The General Merit Rank was referred to as GMR. Candidates were ranked in descending order of total marks. Separate category ranks could also be indicated, but the GMR was used for counselling, seat allotment, and admission sequencing.

JEPBN 2027 Tie-Breaking Rules
If two or more candidates obtained the same marks, the following tie-breaking criteria were applied:
- Higher total marks in Part B
- Less negative marks overall
- Less negative marks in Part B
- Less negative marks in Part A
- Older candidate based on date of birth
- If the tie remained, the candidate with the earlier application number received preference.
JEPBN 2027 Seat Matrix and Counselling
The seat matrix for the 2027-28 academic session was to be declared by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, and WBUHS and published on the Board’s website before counselling.
Candidates should note that qualifying in JEPBN and obtaining a rank did not automatically guarantee admission. Admission and seat allotment were subject to the applicable counselling rules and document verification.
A separate notification regarding counselling, seat allotment and provisional admission was to be issued after publication of the result.

Candidates must produce original documents whenever required for verification. Screenshots, photographs of documents displayed on a mobile phone, and similar images were not accepted as valid documents.
