The Bharat Taxi cooperative-led digital mobility platform, operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL), has officially launched its services in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. As of July 19, 2026, the platform has onboarded 7.97 lakh driver-partners (Sarathis) across India, including 2.55 lakh in Delhi-NCR, 1.01 lakh in Gujarat, and 71,095 in Maharashtra.
Operating on a zero-commission model, Bharat Taxi allows Sarathis to retain the full fare earned from rides, while charging only a nominal subscription fee for platform maintenance and technology services. The cooperative also provides members with benefits such as health and accident insurance, access to SBI Mudra loans, vehicle financing, and training programmes on digital operations, customer service, and road safety.
The government said that the platform will be expanded to other states and cities based on operational readiness, regulatory approvals, and coordination with state governments and cooperative institutions. The information was shared by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
