After the examination, WBJEEB will prepare the merit rank based on the marks obtained by candidates in the Common Entrance Test. Candidates will be able to view and download their individual Rank Card, which will contain their score and rank. WBJEEB will not publish individual rank or score lists publicly, in order to maintain the confidentiality of candidates.
The main merit rank will be called GMR (General Merit Rank). The ranking will generally be prepared in descending order of marks, meaning candidates with higher marks will receive a better rank.

What happens if two or more candidates obtain the same marks?
WBJEEB has specified a tie-breaking methodology to decide the merit rank. The tie will be resolved in the following order:
1. Higher marks in Part-B
The candidate who obtains higher total marks in Part-B will get preference.
2. Less negative marks overall
If the tie continues, the candidate with fewer negative marks in total will be given preference.
3. Less negative marks in Part-B
If the candidates are still tied, the candidate with fewer negative marks in Part-B will get preference.
4. Less negative marks in Part-A
The next criterion will be fewer negative marks in Part-A.
5. Date of Birth
If the tie remains even after applying the above rules, the older candidate will receive preference.
6. Application Number
If the tie still cannot be resolved, the candidate with the earlier application number will be given preference.
