RSVC AMRIT Platform Launched to Boost Rural Technology and Innovation
Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, launched the RSVC AMRIT platform on 15 August 2025. Developed by NABARD in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (OPSA), AMRIT is a digital platform designed to strengthen the RuTAGe Smart Village Centre (RSVC) ecosystem and promote technology-led rural development.
The platform connects innovators, startups, technology providers, academic institutions, funding agencies and rural communities on a common platform. It will support technology discovery, validation, deployment, monitoring and knowledge sharing.
RSVCs help transfer affordable and appropriate technologies to rural communities in areas such as agriculture, renewable energy, education, water and sanitation, rural enterprises and citizen services. AMRIT is expected to develop into a national repository of rural innovations and technologies, supporting wider adoption and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
