Arpit a Career Advancement Program. This online professional development in Teaching(Arpit) was launched by the Ministry of Education(MoE). This is known as Annual Refresher Programme in Teaching (ARPIT) which was launched on 13th November 2018. An initiative of Online Professional Development of 15 lakh Higher Education Faculty using the MOOC’s* platform SWAYAM.

For implementing ARPIT, 75 discipline-specific National Resource Centres (NRCs) were identified in the year 2018 and 48 discipline-specific National Resource Centres (NRCs) in the year 2019.
The task was to prepare online training material with a focus on the latest developments in the discipline, new & emerging trends, pedagogical improvements and methodologies for transacting the revised curriculum.

For ARPIT 2020, Ministry decided to rerun ARPIT-2019 courses in ARPIT-2020. The training materials are uploaded and made available through SWAYAM. The ARPIT will revolutionize the professional development of faculty by catering to massive numbers by leveraging the ICT and Online Technology platform of SWAYAM.

Who Can Appear?
The learner (Faculty and Non-Faculty) who enrolled in any of the 48 courses is eligible for appearing for the Examination of that course only.
The learner (Faculty and Non-Faculty) who successfully clears the Examinations i.e. score 50% or more marks only will be issued a certificate by SWAYAM, which will be equivalent to one UGC Refresher Course for Career Advancement Scheme of faculty

The Examination will be held in 140 cities across the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announces the conduct of ARPIT-2020 as per the following details:

The last date for submission of the Examination fee (through Canara Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking & Paytm Payment Modes upto 11:50 pm) is March,
Duration of Correction in Particulars in Online Application Form First week of March,

Candidates can apply for ARPIT-2020 through “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
For Faculty Members
In the case of faculty who are working in any of the Indian Higher Educational Institutions, there won’t be any examination fee. For this purpose, the Faculty has to produce relevant proof of being a faculty in the form of Faculty ID Proof/ Appointment Letter/Latest Pay slip/Promotion Order.

The exam would be an entirely Computer-Based Test (CBT)
