NHB Recruitment for Senior Officer and Deputy Director-The result of Stage I is declared now NTA will hold a Descriptive Test on 10 March. Candidates must note down this date. The duration of the descriptive test is 3 Hours and would be held separately for two positions mentioned as Dy Director and Sr.Horticulture officer The last date to apply is extended to 15 January 2024. There is a way selection process. The first stage is MCQ based test. Those who clear the Stage-I test will be called for the Second Stage test which is a descriptive test. NTA will conduct the test. Educational & Other Qualifications: Sr Officer Horticulture

The candidate must be a Graduate in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Food Technology/Post-harvest Technology/ Agriculture Economics/ Agriculture Engineering /Food Sciences from a recognized University preferably a Master’s Degree in the same field.

AGE LIMIT:- Not exceeding 30 years as of the Closing Date of Online Application.

Age Relaxation:- § SC/ST up to 5 years, § OBC-NCL up to 3 years

Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) Category Relaxation in upper age limit

PwBD + General 10 years

PwBD+ OBC -NCL 13 years

PwBD+ SC/ST 15 years

Eligibility – Nationality/ Citizenship

 A candidate must be either: a. a citizen of India, b. a subject of Nepal, or c. a subject of Bhutan, or d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India. f. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Marking Scheme

Each question at Stage I shall have 1 mark each. · There will be no negative marking. · The candidates will be shortlisted for Stage II in the ratio of 1:10 i.e. about 10 times the number of vacancies in each category based on their performance in Stage-I. · If the examination is held in more than one session, the scores across various sessions will be equated following standard practice to adjust for slight differences in the difficulty level of different test batteries used across sessions. · The Total Marks Obtained at Stage II will be used to determine the final Merit

Horticulture: Tropical and Dry Land Fruit Production, Subtropical and Temperate Fruit Production, Breeding of Fruit Crops, Post-Harvest Technology, Biotechnology of Fruit Crops, Principles and Practices of Plant Propagation, Production Technology of Cool Season Vegetable Crops, Production Technology of Warm Season Vegetable Crops, Seed Production, Hi-Tech Production Technology of Fruits, flowers & Vegetable Crops, Production Technology of Spice Crops, Statistics.

General Studies: Questions on General Science, current events of national and international importance, History of India, Indian agriculture, Indian Geography, Indian Culture & new Agri-horti initiatives and schemes of Govt, of India i.e. PEQ, CPP, CDP, MIDH, NABARD, ICAR research institutions & Environmental studies.

English Comprehension: Active Passive, One-word Substitution, Unseen Passage, Fill in the blanks, Antonyms, Synonyms, Direct-Indirect, Error Detection, Sentence Improvement.

Quantitative Aptitude and mental Ability: Time and work, Average, Percentage, Ratio and proportion, Interest, Profit & Loss, Time & Distance, Decimals, Fractions, Partnership, Analogies, Problem Problem-solving, Judgement, Coding–Decoding, Relationship concept.

Answer Key

Answer Key will be released only candidates have the option to challenge the answer keys. It will be released online after 3-4 days after the exam.
