Engineering Entrance Exams. The one name that emerges first is JEE Main examination. It is a national entrance test organized by NTA every year. For entrance into IITs of India one has to be in the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main rank list only then can one appear for the IITs entrance that is known as JEE Advanced. One can say JEE Main is the qualifier for the JEE Advanced

Through JEE Main entrance test the student will be able to get admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other popular institutes.

JEE exam is conducted for two papers i.e., Paper I and Paper II. Paper-I is conducted for B.Tech/B.E.courses and Paper-II is conducted for B.Arch and B.Planning.

There were four sessions for JEE Main but last year it was conducted in two sessions.

A candidate can apply for Session 1 and pay the exam fee for Session 1 in the given period of time. If a candidate wishes to apply for Session 2, he/she has to apply again when the window is reopened after Session 1 is over and pay the Examination Fee for Session 2 during that period.

NTA is facilitating all candidates with an additional platform of UMANG and DigiLocker to download their documents like Confirmation Page, Admit Card, Score Cards, etc. Instruction is provided in subsequent phases.

JEE (Main) – is conducted in the following modes:

Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode only.
Paper 2 A (B. Arch): Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude Test (Part-II) in “Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only and Drawing Test (Part-III) in pen and paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on drawing sheet of A4 size.

Paper 2B (B. Planning): Mathematics (Part-I), Aptitude Test (Part-II), and Planning-Based Questions (Part-III) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode only.

Qualification Criteria for Engineering Entrance Exam

B. Tech Eligibility Criteria –

The B.Tech eligibility standards is the same across the Nation, as well as also the basic qualification needed to combine B.Tech courses in India is as follows —

For pursuing any B. Tech program, an individual has to pass Class 12 in the Science stream. The students should have Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as the main subjects in their +2 examinations. students who have studied just these areas in Class 12 can appear for the B.Tech entrance test.
But, students belonging to reserved categories like SC/ ST will possess the comfort of around 5 per cent at the minimum qualifying marks.
For several technology streams like Biomedical Engineering, students should have studied Biology among the areas in Class 12.
There is Lateral Entry into B.Tech programmes, every institute fixes its own eligibility criteria. A student must have a diploma in the engineering field for lateral entry.
Important Points to be Noted

From 2022 chemistry is not a mandatory subject to appear for JEE Main exam.

M.Tech Eligibility Criteria –

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Tech Degree programme are:

Candidates that have finished their B. Tech level with a legal score in GATE 2022 qualify for the M.Tech degree program.
Please be aware the M.Tech eligibility standards would differ from institute to institute.
