GATE 2021 Exams Papers Schedule is released. The Admit Card is expected to be released on 8th January 2021.

 Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2021) is one of the national-level entrance examinations. It is conducted every year jointly by the Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore & one of the IITs.

This year IIT Bombay is the conducting body of GATE 2021. The exam is a gateway to get admission in Master’s programs and direct doctoral programs in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science.

• The exam will be conducted if the current covid-19 situation eases and other restrictions are relaxed. If the situation prevails the GATE-2019 exam in international centre will be cancelled

Examination pattern 2021

• GATE 2021 will be conducted for 27 papers. The Exam will be conducted in online mode only (Computer Based Test).

• Candidates are given the opportunity to choose  more than one subject. Students can appear for ONE or TWO subjects in the GATE exam. However, the option of two subjects is applicable only for a prescribed set of combinations.

What is GATE 2021 exam?

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a National level examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Science and  Engineering. It is administered to enroll into the Masters Program of institutes as well as jobs at Public Sector Companies.

• The minimum eligibility criteria:

• 3rd year Graduation candidates can apply for the exam.
• Graduates from Arts and Commerce streams can also apply for GATE examination.
• Age Limit

            No maximum or minimum age requirement

•         Nationality

• Indian citizens and the candidates from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE, Singapore and Ethiopia.

• Two additional subjects are also being introduced: Environmental science and engineering (ES), Humanities and social sciences (XH) rising. Hence, GATE will be conducted for 27 subjects over six days and twelve sessions.

The GATE 2021 will be only conducted if the current COVID-19 situation eases and travelling restrictions will get relaxed.

Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to Postgraduate Programs (Master’s and Doctoral) with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other Government Scholarships / Assistantships, subject to the admission criteria of the admitting institute.

The GATE score is also used by some Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for their recruitment and by several other universities in India and abroad for admissions.

GATE 2021 score will remain valid for THREE YEARS from the date of announcement of results.

Steps to fill GATE Application Form 2021

Candidates need to follow the steps provided below in order to apply for GATE exam:

• Complete the registration process by providing required information
• Login and fill the rest of GATE application form
• Upload the required documents
• Pay the GATE registration fee 2021 according to category
• Preview the details entered and submit the application form.

GATE 2021 Registration Fee

GATE 2021 is scheduled to be conducted from February 5 to 7 and 12 to 14 across the country. GATE is conducted to screen the candidates to offer admission into M.E./M.Tech/PhD at the IITs, NITS, IIITs and CFTIs and also for recruitment in Public Service Undertakings (PSUs).

IIT Bombay has released the GATE application form 2021 on the official website at appsgate.iitb.ac.in. The GATE 2021 registration date has started from September 11 and will be open till September 30, 2020. Candidates can apply in online mode only. The GATE application fee can be paid till October 7, 2020. Candidates will have to register at GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) in order to fill out the GATE application form 2021.
